Crystal Head is manufactured by the Canadian company Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits and is a widely rewarded vodka. These rewards are certainly not without merit. The creators of this vodka are actor Dan Aykroyd who is known for his work in the Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters to name just a few, and his colleague John Alexander, who possesses a mutual fascination with Dan of the supernatural world, which was the foundation that inspired this vodka.
A story of 13 Crystal skulls:
An old legend tells the tale of the ancient American Indians, the Olmekers, whom created 13 skulls of mountain crystal. The skulls are said to possess magical powers and the power to save the world when dooms day comes – they are therefore an object of great interest and fatal consequences in the hands of the wrong people. The Olmekers hid the skulls in a pyramid, where the Mayans and Aztecs later came to possess them. Where the story goes from here there are many versions, both in history books and the tale of Indiana jones which you may have heard of.
Myth or not, the story of these skulls have inspired the production of a world-class vodka.
A unique distillation technique
It is not only the avant-garde bottle that makes Crystal Head unique. Whether you believe in legends or not, the pure taste of this vodka is unique – and the reason behind this is the special production method. First, peaches and corn of the highest quality are distilled in a neutral, gluten-free spirit mixed with pure water from Newfoundland. This process is carried out 4 times. After this process, the fluid is filtered 7 times, where 3 of these filtrations are carried out through a layer of semi-precious stones, also known as Herkimer diamonds.
Nothing but pure spirit…
Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander set out to create the world’s purest vodka. A symbol of life, which reflects power and enlightenment – and not least a symbol of the award-winning status they both reside over. Crystal head therefore contains no additives, glycerol, citrus oil or sugar, which otherwise is found in many types of vodka. In short; nothing is added to enforce or mask the flavor. Whether or not you buy into the story behind Crystal Head, you should grant yourself the experience of tasting this world-class vodka.
