There is a serious focus on lips this autumn, as all the biggest designers have poured love and ingenuity into lipstick and created dark shades such as plum, fuchsia, and ox-blood-red. Several models have also donned completely natural nude makeup combined with full, dark purple or completely black lips. If you are in doubt about how to pull off the darker colors, then check out Harper’s Bazaars guide to dark lips here.
Bronze your eyes:
The metallic eyeshadows are gracing the catwalk once again - but this year many makeup artists are choosing bronze over gold or silver. Bronze on your eyes gives the face a warm glow and works well with dark lips, which are currently trending, as well as more natural lip shades.
Healthy red cheeks:
A fresh stroll on an ice cold, sun-kissed winters day gives you a very special glow. And it’s exactly this look you should be pursuing right now! So put away your sunshine-powder and go with a peach or rose blush. This trend is called “flushed”.
Backstage at the big fashion weeks, mascara has practically been a curse word the past few seasons, where many makeup artists have instead chosen a clean and sharp look with completely bare lashes. Now mascara is back baby! Put layer upon layer on both the upper and lower lashes to achieve the ultimate doll-lash effect.
Lip gloss in new places:
Shiny lip gloss is back on the catwalk, and models are flaunting full and shiny lips. Several makeup artists even use gloss on the cheekbones and eyebrows for full effect.
Eyeliner still works:
The graphic eye makeups are still a massive hit on catwalks internationally, where some models donned thick black eyeliner covering the entire eyelid and white wing-shaped eye makeup which continued until it met the hair line. You can make this look more suited for everyday looks by creating cat-eyes with black eyeliner. If you need a hand, then check out Max Factors great video guide.
